Occupational Health & Safety Policy

Introduction
It is the primary policy of Belmont Electrical to conduct its activities in a responsible manner, ensuring the health and safety of its employees and third parties on site.

Duties and Responsibilities of Belmont Electrical (Pvt) Ltd
In line with this, the company aims to:
-    Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, local standards and international standards where relevant, on safety and health, and maintain contact with legislating authorities.
-    Minimize or eliminate where practicable, hazards or aspects of hazard, and their associated risks and impacts through implementation of appropriate safety and health programs.
-    Promote and improve the safety and health of its employees and welfare of the surrounding community and affected stakeholders.

Mitigation and Intervention
To achieve this, the company will:
-    Put in place measures that will continuously keep our business activities in line with acceptable standards of safety and health.
-    Periodically carry out safety and health assessments and audits to identify and control safety and health hazards that may arise from its operations.
-    Educate and train all employees, contractors and the local communities in which we operate on the safety and health policy and outlining their safety and health roles and responsibilities.
-    Minimize, mitigate and remediate safety and health aspects and hazards resulting from the company’s operations.
-    Ensure that safety and health objectives and targets are reviewed within stipulated time periods and as and when the need arises, in order to promote continuous improvement in safety and health performance.
-    Communicate with all stakeholders and other interested parties on issues relating to safety and health.
-    Maintain, update and make available to internal and external interested parties all records and documentation relating to safety and health.

 

 

 

Safety Record
Throughout the 25 years of Belmont Electrical’s business operations, the business has recorded no (Zero) occupational fatalities. Belmont Electrical has operated incident-free since 1989.

 

 

Compliance
Belmont Electrical is compliant with regulations governing the construction and electrical engineering industries. We comply with the letter and spirit of the Factories and Works Act [Chapter 14:08] and other legislation relating to the type of work undertaken by Belmont Electrical.
